Every Clovehush dish is the same shape and size, so choosing is only about the artwork. Here are the measurements, what fits inside and how to look after it.

Dimensions

Shape Round, with a gently raised, softly curved rim
Diameter About 5 in (12.7 cm) across
Depth Shallow and low-sided, so small pieces are easy to pick out
Material Glazed ceramic
Design Printed edge to edge on the inner surface, under a glossy glaze
Base Smooth, with no felt pad

Sizes are approximate. Each dish is fired individually, so measurements and the curve of the rim can vary very slightly from one piece to the next.

How big is 5 inches?

About the width of a coffee saucer, or the span of an adult palm with the fingers together. It covers roughly the space of a paperback book's short side, so it fits easily on a nightstand, windowsill, vanity tray or the corner of a kitchen counter.

What fits

  • RingsA handful of everyday rings, plus a wedding band set
  • EarringsSeveral pairs of studs, or two or three pairs of small hoops or drops
  • KeysA house key and car fob on a small ring
  • Tea bagsOne or two tea bags, or a used one resting by the kettle
  • Bedside bitsA watch, hair ties, a lip balm
  • Desk extrasPaper clips, a USB stick, a spare button

Long necklaces fit best coiled loosely, and bulky key rings with many keys may spill over the rim. For a larger collection, many customers keep two dishes side by side.

Care

  • Wipe clean with a soft damp cloth, or hand wash gently in warm soapy water.
  • Dry with a soft towel before putting jewelry back in.
  • Not dishwasher safe and not microwave safe.
  • Avoid scouring pads and harsh cleaners, which can dull the glaze.
  • Decorative use only; please don't use it for food.

About the gold-look designs: the gold tones in our Moon & Gilt collection are printed colour, not metal. They won't tarnish, and they are cared for exactly like every other dish.
